Following on the heels of our spring 2022 issue, which focused on drawing near to God, this second issue of the year emphasizes mission. In Matthew 9:36-38, Jesus saw the crowds and “had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” It begs the question: Have we as disciples taken time to see needs, move with compassion, pray for harvest, and send workers to the field?
The PCG Global Conference in July will announce these themes to our constituency around the world (pcg.org/globalconference)and our annual Impact Eternity Month in September will reiterate them as we partner together in daily devotion and in the sharing of our faith (pcg.org/impacteternity),but for this particular issue of the Pentecostal Messenger, our aim is simply to introduce you to a few of the countless individuals who already have a grasp on what it means to “contend for mission.” From Bishop Bob McGee, who shares in our featured article his incredible testimony of redemption, to this year’s class of MC graduates, to those prayer warriors and ministry leaders who graduated to glory in 2021, and on to our PCG missionaries around the globe—it is evident that the mission of Christ is alive and will continue “until the whole world hears.”
