This past summer Messenger College was able to participate in an amazing opportunity by partnering with the World Missions Department and the PCG in Hungary. A group of four MC students and their leader were able to serve PCG ministries in Budapest and Tatabanya. The students were able to grow in unexpected ways by being taken out of their comfort zone, adapting to a different culture, and, ultimately, by learning more about the heart of God for His people.
During the two weeks spent in Hungary, the team held a Vacation Bible School and was able to teach English to children and teens by using Scripture. In this VBS, they built relationships with the students, were able to preach and share testimonies, taught the kids new games, shared the love of Christ, and learned about the rich history of Hungary while capturing its beauty. In past years, the Vacation Bible School had around 50-70 kids come to participate, and this year they had about 100 kids, even though it was the hottest part of the summer! The team was met with great hospitality and left with lasting friendships.
Most of the MC students had never been outside of the US before, so their hearts and minds were able to expand in the knowledge of God and learn about how God uses His people all around the world. These students are training and learning how to become effective missionaries and church leaders all around the world. So, they said yes to God, even though it was not always easy, and took the leap of faith to do something new in order to become world changers.
A special thanks to Pastor Attila and Pastor Janos for helping plan the trip and hosting the MC students!
